Paul Veth Today is the hottest day in decades in The Netherlands, and I decided to go to the gym for the first time in months. That's just how I am. I'm the all-in guy. I started this idea about one and a half years ago. Sent mock-up websites to maybe 150 entrepreneurs. Built thirty of them before a single invoice went out. Stopped training. Started eating more carbs because my brain needed the fuel. Slept less. Gave up hours I wanted with my wife and my son. Going all in has a price, and you pick what you pay with. I always told the entrepreneurs I worked with: match your business to who you are. Build it too far from your identity and it will make you sick. Literally. In your body, in your system, in your brain. I knew this. I still made the trade. When I'm building, I'm building. When I'm training, I'm fully training. Right now it's starting to feel a little more relaxed again, and so I'm going back to the gym. Hottest day of the decade. Doesn't matter. That's it.

Paul Veth I went all in on building Identity First Media. Stopped training. Started eating more carbs. Slept less. Gave up some quality time with my wife and my son. That was the price, and I made the choice consciously. But here's what kept it from breaking me: the business itself was built around who I am. I'm the all-in guy. I knew that going in. So I could recognise what was happening and manage it, because the work matched my identity even when the pace was brutal. I spent years working with founders who were burning out despite real success. The pattern was always the same. The business had drifted from who they actually were. Far enough from their identity that it hit them literally, in their body, in their system, in their brain. That's what identity-first marketing is actually about. Match your business, your customers, and your content to who you are. When that alignment is there, hard is still hard. You just stop fighting yourself at the same time.
